The Best Thing You Can Do With Ripe Bananas
Do you want to know my secret for never throwing away ripe bananas?
It’s effortless! Today I’m going to show you how you can keep your ripe bananas and your money from going in the trash.
When your bananas reach the point of no return, you know when they’re mostly brown instead of yellow. I either plan to bake something with them right away or I freeze them.
I know! it’s not rocket science.
All I do is peel the bananas, break them into thirds, and put them into a freezer-safe bag or container. Think, gallon size.
I do this weekly with the bananas that didn’t get eaten. They never go to waste because I use the frozen bananas for smoothies, for baking, and other recipes. If you want to bake with them, all you need to do is portion out the frozen bananas and lightly defrost them or leave them out to thaw. If the recipe calls for two bananas, then I portion out about six pieces of frozen banana.
