Soothing Non-Toxic Hand Soap [ 4 Ingredients ]

Did you know you can easily make your own soothing non-toxic hand soap at home only using 4 ingredients?

Foaming hand soap has been a favorite thing of mine since I discovered it. Like, what did we do before it, gel hand soap?…😊 But with hand soap comes a myriad of skin chapping chemicals that you don’t want to use everyday.

Triclosan Antimicrobial pesticides toxic to the aquatic environment; may also impact human reproductive of the main ingredients in anti-bacterial hand soaps and body washes.
Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl SulfateSLS and SLES are surfactants that can cause skin irritation or trigger allergies. SLES is often contaminated with 1,4-dioxane, a byproduct of a petrochemical process called ethoxylation, which is used to process other chemicals in order to make them less harsh.A foaming agent in most hand soaps and shampoos.

Luckily, you can replicate a similar soap at home that  cleans dirt and removes bacteria, and is safe for you and your family to use, everyday.

I created this hand soap after feeling frustrated about having severely dry hands during the winter months in Oklahoma. My hands would feel so dry even after applying moisturizer to them.

What I realized was that I was constantly washing my hands with my favorite foaming hand soap multiple times a day.

After studying at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition I learned that what we put on our body is just as important as what goes in it. It was obvious to me what was making my hands so dry, the one thing I used every day, morning, noon, and night. My foaming hand soap!

I had already given my moisturizers an overhaul after experiencing a similar drying effect on my face (another story) so I decided it was time to remove the harmful chemicals from my soaps and shampoos. I immediately went to my local health food store and came home with what is now my staple recipe for natural hand soap. Good-bye sandpaper hands!
